Thursday at the Table - What Keeps You Up at Night

By Jeff Bingham, President

Thursday at the Table | October 22, 2026

What Keeps You Up at Night

It's 3 in the morning, and you're doing the arithmetic again.

The grocery bill. The gas. The prescription that went up again. The number in the account, and whether it's enough.

You're not alone. 67% of Americans worry more about running out of money than about dying.

And you did everything right. You worked, you saved, you raised a family. The man on TV says the consumer is fine. He isn't the one awake at 3 in the morning.

You're not crazy to feel it. Things cost more. That's real.

Telling you not to worry won't make it go away. It's not going to get any cheaper. So you spend some of what was meant for later, just to keep up. Today, that feels fine. The question is what it does to the future you. That's what we sit down and figure out with you.

When I'm the one awake at 3 in the morning, this is one of the verses I pray.

Matthew 6:26: "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"

That doesn't mean do nothing. It means you don't have to figure it out by yourself.

If that's you at 3 in the morning, come sit at the table with us. Give it an hour, and walk out knowing where you stand. Then go get some sleep.

Keep the Faith. God Bless America.
